Ulysses is a second year dual-degree student at The Wharton School and The Lauder Institute, majoring in Strategies in Distress and International Studies with a focus on East Asia and Mandarin. During the summer of 2012, he served as an Analyst on the special situations investment team at LIM Advisors, a Hong Kong-based multi-strategy hedge fund. Prior to Wharton/Lauder, Ulysses served as Principal at Auger Enterprises, a Washington, DC-based family office. Earlier in his career, he served as a Senior Associate at Corstone Capital, a merchant bank focused on distressed investments in China. Ulysses graduated from Fordham University with a B.A. in Economics.
Nelda is a second year MBA student at the Wharton School majoring in Finance and Management. This past summer, Nelda interned at Baring Private Equity Asia in Hong Kong, and at LBC Credit Partners in Philadelphia. Prior to Wharton, Nelda spent two years as an associate at American Securities, a New York-based private equity firm, and two years at JPMorgan as an analyst in the Leveraged Finance group. Nelda also served as Business Strategy Manager at First Book Marketplace, a social enterprise in Washington, DC. Nelda received a B.S. from the Stern School of Business at New York University in 2005 with concentrations in Finance and Accounting, and a minor in Mathematics.
Tedmond is a JD/MBA student at Penn Law School and Wharton, majoring in Finance and with expected graduation this May. In 2012, Tedmond served as the interim Chief Financial Officer of a start-up fashion business in New York City, where he helped oversee a $1 million capital raise. In 2011, Tedmond spent his summer as an Associate Attorney at Herbert Smith LLP, where he advised issuers and underwriters on capital market transactions. Prior to the JD/MBA program, Tedmond worked as a private equity analyst at Wasserstein & Co., where he evaluated acquisition targets in the domestic consumer products sector, in particular sporting goods, and assisted in the management of the firm's portfolio companies. Tedmond graduated cum laude in economics from Harvard in 2007.
Max Eckstein is a first-year MBA student at The Wharton School. Prior to Wharton, Max was an Associate in the Restructuring Group at Kirkland & Ellis LLP. Max received a JD from Columbia University School of Law and graduated from Brandeis University with a BA in Politics.
Currently a second-year JD/MBA student at Penn Law and Wharton, Edward Linden will be working this summer as a Summer Associate at Simpson Thacher & Bartlett LLP in New York. Prior to Penn, Edward spent 3 years in the Wealth Management Division at Barclays Wealth. During his time at Barclays Wealth, Edward worked with the Manager Research & Selection, where he evaluated and helped launch relationships with external investment managers. He also served as the Co-Portfolio Manager of the first proprietary investment product for Barclays Wealth Americas. Edward joined Barclays Wealth as part of its acquisition of Lehman Brothers in 2008, where he started his career in the Investment Management Division. Edward graduated with a B.A. in History from Amherst College.
Kabir Ahmed is a first year MBA student at Wharton. Prior to Wharton, Kabir spent three years as an Associate at Oaktree Capital Management where he worked in the Principal Opportunities Group, focusing on distressed debt, control investments, and special situations transactions across the financial services, energy, healthcare and utility services sectors. He focused on due diligence of new investments and portfolio management. Prior to Oaktree, Kabir worked as an investment banking analyst in the Financial Institutions Group at Goldman Sachs in Los Angeles. Kabir received a B.A. in Economics from the University of California, Berkeley in 2007.
Andy Fohrer is a second year MBA student at Wharton. Prior to Wharton, Andy spent three years as an Associate at Oaktree Capital Management in the Principal Opportunities Fund, focusing on distressed debt, control investments, and special situations transactions across the energy, healthcare and industrial sectors. Prior to Oaktree, Andy worked as an investment banking analyst in the Diversified Industrials Group at JPMorgan in New York. Andy received a B.S. in Business Administration from the University of Southern California where he was a member of the men's golf team.
Neha Begwani is a first year MBA student at Wharton. Prior to Wharton, Neha spent five years at the Finance Practice of Charles River Associates, an economic consulting firm. She graduated cum laude from Dartmouth College with a B.A. in Mathematics and Economics.
Tanushree Seth is a first year MBA student at Wharton majoring in Accounting and Finance. Prior to Wharton, Tanushree spent five years at Analysis Group, a Boston based economic consulting firm, where she provided advisory on the performance of mortgage-backed securities with a focus on examining deal structures and techniques of credit enhancements to evaluate cash flows to investors. She has supported several academic experts in understanding the implications of the macroeconomic environment and other industry factors on the mortgage industry. Tanushree has also worked on several bankruptcy and restructuring litigation cases, including fraudulent conveyance claims, and conducted analyses in distressed M&A-related matters in the financial institutions industry. Tanushree graduated from Mount Holyoke College in 2007 with a B.A. in Economics.
Ziyaad Ahmed is a first year MBA at The Wharton School, planning to major in Finance, Accounting and Statistics. Prior to Wharton he worked as an investment analyst at Prospect Capital, a $4.0Bn middle-market fund, where he invested across the capital structure in both debt and equity. Before joining Prospect, Ziyaad worked as an investment banking analyst at Lazard Frere’s aerospace and defense investment banking group. He graduated Magna Cum Laude with a dual degree from the University of Pennsylvania with a BSc in Finance and BA in Arts.
Mr. Waldeck is currently a first-year MBA candidate at The Wharton School majoring in Finance. Prior to Wharton, Mr. Waldeck was an analyst at Apollo Management in the Senior Debt Investments Group. Mr. Waldeck was previously an analyst and associate at Hypo Real Estate focused on commercial real estate and structured finance investments. Mr. Waldeck graduated with distinction from the Ross School of Business at the University of Michigan with a Bachelor of Business Administration.
Christian is a JD/ MBA student at Penn Law and Wharton and will graduate in 2013. Prior to graduate school, Christian worked in M&A and private equity in New York. This past summer Christian served as a summer clerk for Judge Robert Gerber at the US Bankruptcy Court for the Southern District of New York. Christian holds a BA from Dartmouth College an MS from Oxford University and has completed all levels of the Chartered Financial Analyst Program.
Nick Walker is a first year MBA student at Wharton majoring in finance. As a dual-degree student, he is also pursuing an MA in international studies with a focus on Mandarin at the Lauder Institute. Prior to Wharton, Nick worked in the leverage finance and debt advisory team at UBS Investment Bank in Hong Kong. As an Associate Director, he was responsible for executing leveraged buyouts, transaction financings and debt restructurings across Asia. Nick graduated with a dual degree in Law and Commerce from the University of New South Wales in Sydney, Australia and is a CFA Charterholder. In his spare time he enjoys travelling, hiking, cycling and music.
Currently a second-year in the three-year JD/MBA program, Alex Smorczewski will be working as a 2013 summer associate for Sullivan & Cromwell LLP in New York. Originally from Atlanta, Alex was a member of the Princeton University undergraduate class of 2007. He held several positions in corporate strategy and business development for JPMorgan Chase before coming to Wharton.
Yinyin is a first year MBA student at Wharton concurrently pursuing a dual degree in International Studies from the Lauder Institute. Prior to Wharton, Yinyin worked at Credit Suisse, in both New York and San Francisco, advising corporates on liability management transactions and advising technology companies on financing and M&A opportunities. Yinyin graduated from the University of Pennsylvania with a BA in Philosophy, Politics, and Economics, and enjoys tennis, wine, and traveling.
Jordan is a second year MBA/Lauder student at Wharton, majoring in finance. Before coming to Wharton, Jordan worked at SAC Capital as a fixed income analyst, where he focused on selling off distressed debt claims. Last summer he worked in the Leveraged Finance group at Goldman Sachs, and he plans to return fulltime this coming summer. Jordan graduated with an AB from Princeton University.
